  My wife and I moved to Muskegon Township in 2012. For the first couple of years we drove back to Grand Rapids every Sunday to take my wife's elderly parents to their local church. During this time I started looking for a church that we could call our own. I went to a few and found that The Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene embraced the most receptive and friendly atmosphere I had ever experienced. The people I found there were diverse in background and embraced the fact that God loves us all, not just the certain among us that feel more worthy than the rest.
  
  The church has a large garden and each year the food is donated to anyone in the community who needs some. Members of the church have to wait until Labor Day to pick produce. They have a couple of free events for outreach to the surrounding community. To many churches these are missed opportunities for income. I'm glad I found the "Lakes Naz" and now today call it my church.
